Makayla Phillips: 15-Year-Old Girl Wowed Everyone And Won Golden Buzzer In AGT 2018
The five acts in AGT 2018 have already received the golden buzzer from all the four judges and the host of the show, Tyra Banks. On Tuesday, 10th July, the supermodel judge Heidi Klum finally used her golden buzzer pick after she was blown away by a booming performance of a 15-year-old singer Makayla Phillips.
Won Golden Buzzer From Heidi Klum
The Canyon Lake, Calfornia, native Makayla Phillips looks similar to Ariana Grande, sang Demi Lovato’s “Warrior,” and hence, won the final golden buzzer all by being herself.
She wowed everyone in the auditorium after hitting the first few notes, leaving the judges Simon Cowell and Heidi Klum exchange smiles. The entire auditorium erupted in applause, minutes later, and Heidi even stood up to give Makayla a standing ovation.
Blown away by Makayla’s performance, the German model, Heidi Klum dramatically pressed the golden buzzer and said:
“I think you are absolutely incredible.” “I mean, I love the whole package. I love your smile, I love how you project to everyone, your voice is incredible.”
With the golden buzzer, Makayla Phillips is going to Hollywood in live shows at the Dolby Theater along with the other three contestants: Michael Ketterer, Amanda Mena, Courtney Hadwin, and dance group “Zurcaroh.” While gold confetti was erupting from the ceiling, Heidi even said that she found the winner of AGT 2018.

Parents, Family, and Siblings
Born to a firefighter father, Todd Phillips, and mother, Regina, who is a drama teacher, Makayla Phillips is a singer, dancer, and actress. She grew up alongside her younger brother named Aidan Phillips and an older sister.
Makayla works out at The Transformation Centre with her mother. The gym is famous for its six-week weight loss challenge. Her mother, Regina is also an agent with Dream Talent Management, a child talent agency in Hollywood.
Makayla began watching AGT since the age of three and wanted to be a part of the show. She practiced harder and honed her singing skills, but used to drove her parents crazy sometimes as she even used to practice in the most inconvenient hour of 3 a.m. Her parents even said at the backstage of AGT that it was the lifelong dream of their daughter.

In 2013, Makayla signed with Dream Talent and won a scholarship at the Hollywood Launch program in Granada Hills. She is even an actress and has performed in the Wizard of Oz as the Witch, Aladdin as Jasmine, Bottle of Joy, The Birthday Boys, Alice in Wonderland to name a few.
Makayla has also recorded her music for Mainstream Source, for Itunes. She is home-schooled and mostly earn honors in her state testing.
Makayla recently won a partial scholarship and will be attending the renowned Hollywood Launch program launched by Wayne Brady.
Makayla is currently in a relationship with her boyfriend named Garret Jones.
