Morgan plays the role of a midfielder in the US National team who is responsible for controlling the middle of the park alongside Julie Ertz, Lindsey Horan, and others. In the first game against Thailand, she only made the substitute bench, but her team was victorious against Thailand winning 13-0, and Alex Morgan scored five goals in a single match.

Morgan did get to play in the second group game against Chile and won the game 3-0. Although they are yet to represent Sweden in the final group game, the US Women’s team have qualified for the knockout stages. Morgan began her professional career in football after she was draft picked by Houston Dash in the 2015 NWSL College Draft. After signing with the club, she could not play much of the first half of the season due to international duties with US National Team. Morgan returned to the team in July and recorded three assists in the season as Houston Dash came in fifth place.

On 30th August 2017, the Chicago Red Stars signed her on a swap deal with Kristie Mewis. After playing two games, she signed with Lyon to play in the French league. However, Morgan came back to NWSL to play for the Chicago Red Stars in 2018 after playing for Lyon for five months. Apart from her club career, Morgan has achieved a lot in her international career with the US National team. In 2012, she won the CONCACAF Women’s U20 Championship as well as the FIFA U20 Championship.
