From wowing Pharrell in an NYU class to touring around the world with Mumford & Sons and Haim, Indie pop singer-songwriter Maggie Rogers has taken the music industry by storm. Not long after her single “Light On” displaced Mumford & Sons’ song “Guiding Light” at the top of the 2019’s first Billboard adult alternative songs chart, she recently dropped her major-label debut album, “Heard It in a Past Life.”
The album, released through Capitol Records, is a collection of self-searching moments: realization from a young adult striving to cope with the shifting world around her. The major-label debut contains 12 songs, including her previously featured songs – “Light On,” “Falling Water,” “On and Off” and her hit “Alaska.”

Maggie Rogers Bio | Age, Parents, Albums & Tour
Born in the year 1994, Margaret Debay Rogers is an American singer-songwriter and producer from Easton, Maryland. She grew up in Easton near the Chesapeake Bay under the guidance of her father, a now-retired Ford dealer, and her mother, a former nurse who now works as an end-of-life doula.
Rogers, who celebrates her birthday on 25th April, loved classical music since the early age. At the age of eight, she began learning to play harp and piano at Salisbury University with a teacher. For high school, she shipped off to the prestigious St. Andrew’s School in Delaware, where she grew an interest in the folk music and banjo. She then enrolled at New York University’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.
By age 13, Rogers, now 24, was writing songs and released a couple of folk albums titled “Echo” and “Blood Ballet” via Bandcamp. Her big leap in the music career came in early 2016 when she brought a demo of her song “Alaska” for Pharrell Williams during an NYU class. The visibly moved pop god compared Rogers’ songwriting style to Stevie Wonder’s, and the video clip subsequently blew up online.
Eventually, Rogers signed to Capitol and dropped her first EP “Now That the Light Is Fading” in February 2017. Since then, she made her television debut on the shows like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Saturday Night Live. For now, she’s booked for SNL, traveling around North America and Europe for Mumford & Sons on their fall tour until April this year.
Earlier this year, Rogers dropped three new songs “Fallingwater,” “Give a Little,” and “Light On,” which are part of his newly arrived major-label debut album, Heard It In a Past Life. Her debut studio album has 12 songs, which are written entirely by her and produced by Kid Harpoon, Greg Kurstin, and Rogers together. Some of the new songs from her debut album are “Past Life,” “Overnight,” “Retrograde,” and “Back in My Body.”
Maggie Rogers Boyfriend: Dating Someone?
The 24-year-old Indie pop singer-songwriter is entirely private about her love life. However, back in 2015, she had posted a picture with a boy and captioned the photo: “2 years. I Love You.”
Though Rogers stated that she had been dating the guy for two years, she didn’t announce the name of her boyfriend then. Lately, she hasn’t mentioned about her then-boyfriend on any of her posts or social feeds. So, it’s possible that the two have already split.
However, Rogers could be trying to protect her mysterious boyfriend from the media following her sudden popularity in 2016. If that’s the case, it’s best to respect their privacy.
