Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia is an Indian Politician and an important member of the Indian National Congress. He is from the Scindia family that once ruled in Gwalior and is a former member of parliament. Scindia is representing the Guna constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Furthermore, Jyotiraditya is also a nominal Maharaja of Gwalior. Apart from being a Congress Leader he also has been a Union Cabinet Minister in Manmohan Singh’s government.

In 2002, Jyotiraditya was elected to Lok Sabha from the Guna constituency of Madhya Pradesh. He defeated Harivallabh Shukla and elected to the Parliament in 2004. In 2007, Scindia became the Minister of State for Communications and Information Technology while he was inducted into Union Cabinet. Also, he was made the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry in 2009 Lok Shaba Election. Besides this, the Cabinet re-shuffle was held in 2012 and he became the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power. In the General Election of 2014, Jyotiraditya defeated Jaibhansingh pawaiya of BJP and was elected to 16th Lok Shaba.
Moreover, Scindia is the President of the Board of Governors of Scindia School, Gwalior. The school was founded in 1987 for the education of India’s princes and nobles by his great grandfather, Madho Rao Scindia. Furthermore, he has been the chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA).
