A tragic incident has given shock waves once again in Europe after Bulgarian journalist, Viktoria Marinova was brutally raped and murdered on Saturday. She was the third journalist to have been kill in the past year in Europe.

The 30-year-old, Viktoria Marinova body was found near a pedestrian alley in the area with heavy vegetation in the Northeastern city of Ruse. The Ruse’s regional prosecutor, Georgi Georgiev told that

“Her death was caused by blows to the head and suffocation, and her mobile phone, car keys, glasses and some of her clothing were missing,”

Bulgarian Interior Minister Mladen Marinov described the homicide as the “exceptionally brutal.” According to the local news outlets, he also stated Marinova was raped before murder. Moreover, he assures that the country’s top murder investigators are working on the case. The suspect Severin Krassimirov arrested on 9th October in Germany admitted that he didn’t mean to kill the journalist and expressed retaliation on her murder.

“I regret it so much. I cannot believe I did it, Whatever I get, even if it is life in prison, I will serve it.”
