Hunter met his now-girlfriend, Kathryn Dennis in the New Year Eve of 2019 in Nashville. The couple “hit it off” quickly as they both have similar “peculiar” sense of humor. Since then, the two have been dating each other.

Previously, Kathryn even told her fellow cast members – Austen Kroll and Craig Conover – that she was “going to marry this guy” while referring to Hunter. Speaking about her now-boyfriend, she told  ET:

In 2018, Hunter auditioned for America’s Got Talent, where he performed a cover of Bryan Adams’ Everything I Do while playing the guitar. Simon Cowell then stopped him in the middle of his performance and asked him to sing another song of his choice. Later, Hunter sang an original song called “Left Behind.” Though the only judge to say no was Howie Mandel, he went through with the votes of Mel B, Heidi Klum, and Simon to the Judge Cuts.

In Judge Cuts performance, Hunter did another original song. Unfortunately, his performance was not strong enough to advance to the Quarterfinals.
